Mid Lincs Yearly Report 2010
We have now been going 4 years ( our 4th anniversary was yesterday) which is a good achievement by all and hope that we continue to grow. We are slightly down on attendance from last year as we seem to lose some and gain some, but we are still strong enough to carry on. We have had 7 new members join us this year: David & Helen Wallis, Philip, James & William Wood and David & Paula Harper. Welcome to you all and I hope that you are enjoying your time with us and found the group beneficial to you. We have also seen various support from friends, Dave & Carole Wheeler, Gary & Jane Poole, Ken & Margaret Baker and Graham & Sandra Beck. Many Thanks. We have also lost some along the way but hope they will return. We must never lose sight of who we are and what we do and therefore keep doing our best in attracting new members with the same interests.
We have also had a good year as a group attending various events (Some good and some bad) Trucks & Troops (May), Wickenby (June), Waddington Airshow (July), Cranwell Flying Club (August), Ramsey (August), BBMF open day (September), Pickering (October) but to name a few. We are now establishing a good rapor with the local RAF stations like Coningsby who have given us a permanent place at their Lincolnshire Lancaster Association day and I hope this will continue as we have lost a fellow member who used to organise this.
As you know the Mid Lincs held their 2nd Rauceby War Weekend which despite the bad weather and a few hiccups went extreamly well, and I would like to thank all those involved in trying to make the show a success. We have done very well in raising money for various clubs and charities like Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance £750, Help for Heroes £750, Rauceby Church £200, St. John’s Ambulance £150, Air Cadets £75. We have now received many offers of help in organising the next event to carry on the success of the show, that it can only get better. This event is now a fixture in many peoples calendar and is talked about all over the country that it can only improve with age. So once again thankyou for your support.
We have also, as a group continued to raise money on our monthly meeting raffles, Clothing sales & odds & sods. So as a club we are very healthy. As a group we probably need to discuss what charity some of these funds should go to.Well done everybody.
This year we were once again called upon to help in the poppy collection in Lincoln near the cenetath. Over two Saturdays we raised £2,601.56p which was a little down on last years where we raised £3,280. We have already been asked back next year.
So as you can see, for a little MVT Area we have done and achieved so much and I hope that we can continue to do so.
Fiona and myself would like to wish you all a happy Christmas and a happy new year.
Thankyou |

Christmas Dinner
Wednesday 8th December, 2010
|
 |
 Hi everyone
The annual Christmas dinner took place last night (7th Dec 2010) at the Abbey Lodge, Woodhall Spa. We had an excellent turnout of 30 members and wives plus some guests. The whole evening went extreamly well with everyone enjoying themselves. The food put on for us was very good with plenty to eat. It's always a pleasure to see the wives or partners of the members as they are the unsung heroes in the background. They are the ones that come along and support us at our weekends away or pack us up to survive the weekend. Either way we can't do without them (Well i can't anyway). The only thing that didn'work well was the camera as most of them turned out blurred (typical). |

We have been asked to provide a selection of military vehicles to this years Waddington Air Show to help with the Battle Of Britain theme that they are hosting this year.
